exposure visit Grace Palliative Care
"The Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College, Mampetta, organized an exposure visit for the third-year BSW students to Grace Palliative Care, Mukkam, on 17 October 2026 at 9:30 AM. A total of 17 students participated in the visit. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the functioning and services of a palliative care institution and to understand the role of social workers in supporting patients and their families. During the visit, students gained insights into the physical, psychological, social and emotional needs of patients requiring palliative care. The visit also helped them understand the importance of compassionate care, family support and community participation in palliative services. Overall, the programme provided valuable practical exposure and enhanced students’ understanding of social work interventions in healthcare settings.
