Bridge Course 2024 for First-Year BA Sociology and BSW Students

The Department of Social Work and Sociology hosted a series of orientation events for incoming first-year BSW and BA Sociology students from July 9th to 12th, 2024.

The program began on July 9th with an ice-breaking session that featured interactive games and group activities aimed at creating a welcoming atmosphere and encouraging student interaction.

On July 10th, a bridge course was held, including a lecture by Mr. Albin Tommy, District Coordinator of the Dream Project, on "The Role of Social Workers and Sociologists in Promoting Social Justice." This session highlighted the importance of their future roles in advancing social justice and provided foundational knowledge and skills.

The event continued on July 11th with a session by Ms. Hasnath, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Noble College, titled "Rebooting Social Engineering under the AI Effect." This lecture examined the impact of artificial intelligence on social engineering, offering critical insights into this evolving field.

The bridge course concluded on July 12th with a detailed class on social work by Ms. Abhirami, Head of the Department of Social Work, specifically tailored for BSW students.
